Who we are
planMyFIRE (planmyfire.in) is a free FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) planning tool built for Indian investors. We provide calculators, articles, and a readiness quiz — all free, with no account required.
What data we collect
We collect minimal data, in three situations:
- Calculator inputs — numbers you enter into our calculators (expenses, corpus, age, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. They are not sent to our servers and we do not store them.
- Newsletter email — only if you voluntarily subscribe. We collect your email address to send you updates about new calculators and articles.
- Story submissions — if you submit a story via the “Share your story” form, we collect the information you provide: age range, city, industry, financial figures (expenses, corpus, monthly investment, target FIRE age), your written answers, and optionally your email address. This data is stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to site operators, used solely for editorial review and potential anonymous publication. We do not collect your name or any identifying details.
- Anonymous usage data — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individuals. It tells us which pages are visited and from which country — nothing more.
How we use your data
- Your email is used only to send you planMyFIRE newsletters and product updates.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your email with any third party.
- Anonymous analytics are used to understand which tools are most useful and to improve the site.
Cookies
We do not set any first-party tracking cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless by design.
However, we use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
Data storage
Newsletter email addresses and story submission data are stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to the site operators. We use Google's infrastructure, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Story submissions are retained only for as long as needed for editorial review. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@planmyfire.in.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), 2023, you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten)
- Withdraw consent for email communications at any time

Unsubscribing
Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email hello@planmyfire.in and we will remove you promptly.
Third-party services
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides analytics. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense — we use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Sheets — stores newsletter subscribers. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

planMyFIRE is an informational tool, not a registered financial advisor. The calculators and articles provide estimates based on historical data and stated assumptions.
